Building a Web Site
of Your Own

Session 5 - Wrap Up & Topics by Request

This session is primarily a time for show-and-tell. Participants will share their ideas for useful home pages. The class will view their work from the class and will also share journal articles found. Additional tips (by request) will be shared by the instructor and other participants. All will have the opportunity to show some other editor tool and comment on its usefulness.

Part 1 - completing course work

  1. Time to set up and finish pages (1 hour?)
  2. Sharing projects and pages

Part 2 - looking ahead

  1. Improving your site
  2. Course evaluation
  3. Posting your page (a few questions & answers)
  4. And now that the course is complete...

Part 3 - Project Ideas

Assignment (post-class things to do):

Continue to make improvements on your pages. Be on the lookout for web pages that really add value to the educational experience of students.  Places like Blue Webn have catalogued some of those sites.  WebQuests are one genre of pages designed to provide high quality Internet-based learning experiences for students, too.  As you look at these sites, think about ways you might be able to create similar tools!  Finally, consider taking a course in creating WebQuests, or just continuing your studies of making a web site!
