Making Your Presence Known - Announcing Your Web Site

Once your web site is complete enough to invite outside visitors to come by for a browse, we don't have to just sit back and hope others will find the page.   Below are several site indices and search tools that will be happy to include your page on their listings.

Submit-it

This site actually will report a new web site's presence to over a dozen search tools including the WWW Yellow Pages, WebCrawler, Yahoo, and more.

Excite

This page is not included in the Submit-It tool so you'll have to link directly to Excite to have your page included on their index and search tool.

Alta Vista

Alta Vista has an automated search tool that may have already found your web site.   Going to their page will allow you to search to confirm if your page is found or to fill out a form to call your page to Alta Vista's attention.
