Building a Web Site

Incorporating Graphics in Web Pages with FrontPage
Note: This activity assumes that the desired image has already been
saved on your disk in the appropriate folder!
It is possible to insert a graphic two ways with FrontPage. Select Image
from the Insert menu. Or, begin by clicking the Insert
Image icon from the tools menu.
| The
window shown at right will appear after beginning using either of the two
methods described above. If the image is not in the folder opened,
use the various navigation tools to locate the picture. Click the
picture to select it and then click "OK". |
 |
Adjusting an Image's
Appearance: With FrontPage, there are several adjustments that can (and should
be made) by selecting an image that has been inserted and then selecting Image
Properties from the Edit menu.
| An image source may be selected from this menu by browsing or
by entering the name directly. The name of the image will be displayed if an image
is selected prior to choosing Image Properties. It's
advisable to enter an additional representation in case the viewer's
browser is set not to receive images. If a particularly high quality image
is used, a lesser version of the same image may be available in case the
browser cannot handle the better format.
|
 |
| Dimensions, alignment and other properties of the image may be edited by clicking the Appearance
tab on the Image Properties window shown. Also, note that an image may be defined as a hyperlink from this window in addition to
the methods described in other sections of this lesson. After all adjustments have
been made, click the OK button at the bottom of the window and the
changes will take effect. |
