In this module, we'll look at the steps to create a form on your web page. It is important to note that the host server must also be set up properly for your form to work. We'll cover the e-mail method to transmit form data back to us and so the Webmaster must have the server programmed to allow for e-mail transmissions. The instructor will let participants if the e-mail option has been set. Another method for use of forms involves programming an interface to send data directly into a database. This programming must reside at the host server - we will not be covering either the steps to create such a form or to program the database interface. If you are deeply interested in this possibility, a good starting place is a formal database class (e.g. Access taught at Johnson County Community College- JCCC) and then a class in programming for database interfaces (e.g. Cold Fusion taught at JCCC). As mentioned above, we'll use e-mail to practice Forms with FrontPage and rely on a server with FrontPage extensions to send us the data as e-mail. To conclude the course, please take a moment to complete the course evaluation online if the e-mail is operational on the district web server. Simply click "submit" when you are finished with the form. If the e-mail server is NOT operational, print the form, fill it out, and submit it via inter-office mail. Take the third quiz after completing this section - it is at BlackBoard.com under "course documents."
