An Introduction to Using WebQuests in the
Classroom In the workshop, participants will learn about using WebQuests (a tool developed by Professor Bernie Dodge at San Diego State University) for instruction and assessment. They will learn to analyze and critique online course materials for their curricular relevance, instructional value, and technical quality. By using online catalogued examples of WebQuests, participants will also be able to explore a variety of online resources that may be used to enhance learning across all curricular areas. Follow these links to each of the parts of the workshop: Goals for the workshop:
Blue Valley Credit Assignment: Participants taking this workshop as part of a "credit" option for Blue Valley Schools staff development program should plan the following short assignment as partial fulfillment for their credit. Participants must complete assignments for three of five workshops in order to earn a "B". For this workshop, participants should write a brief synopsis (one or two paragraphs) for three WebQuests that they believe are worthwhile or useful. The synopsis should include a description of the task students perform, the outcomes/objectives of the lesson, and a suggestion for where the WebQuest might fit into the Blue Valley Curriculum. A copy should be submitted to both the Professional Development office and to the workshop instructor. [Workshop Overview]
