The second session of "Around the WWW" centers on curriculum-specific instructional resources on the World Wide Web. Some of these locations are generally of interest to teachers with links to a wide range of disciplines. Other sites are specific to a particular subject matter. In any case, many of the listings are important not only because of the information at the initial site but because of where the links on a given page may lead. For that reason, we will also discuss browsing techniques. Finally, we will look a bit closer at the software most of us use on a Macintosh to make the Internet connection.
The assignment for this week is to spend at least 45 minutes online looking at resources in some particular subject area of interest. Begin identifying favorite sites for inclusion on your "Top Ten" list. Be prepared to share about oue location you visit at the beginning of class next week.
