In session III of Around the WWW , we are introduced to techniques and tools for searching the World Wide Web for sites or information on specific topics. Frequently, people will have their computers set with one of these sites as their "home" location from which they begin every session on the Web. We will begin to explore approximately six of the common starting places for general use of the web. Strategies and directions for using each of these will be overviewed. During session III, we will also continue to look at more advanced toubleshooting which may me necessary from time to time while using the Internet.
The assignment for this week is to perform at least three searches on unrelated topics. Find out what resources or information are available but also make note of where the resources are located. Use this information to begin building your list of favorite WWW sites.
